Cast Iron Cornbread with Real Corn
Yields1 Serving
Dry Ingredients
 1 ¼ cups Cornmeal
 ¾ cup all purpose flour
 2 tsp baking powder
 ½ tsp baking soda
 ½ tsp salt
 4 tbsp brown sugar
 1 ¼ cups Frozen corn
Wet Ingredients
 2 eggs - Large
 1 ⅓ cups milkI prefer whole milk
 4 tbsp melted butter (cooled)
 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Grease and flour 10-inch cast iron pan (bakers pan spray with flour will also work well)

Greased Cast Iron

Whisk together all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl

In a separate bowl whisk the 2 eggs

To the eggs add and whisk together:

1. Milk
2. Vanilla extract
3. Butter

Cornbread Wet Ingredients

Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and fold to combine. Do not over mix.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients for Cornbread

Scrape all the batter into your cast iron pan evenly

Bake for 23 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after sticking the middle of the cornbread
